Hair Health Cycle
Healthy hair grows, rests and renews in a continuous cycle

Anagen
Growth Phase
2–7 Years
The hair actively grows from the root. Around 85–90% of scalp hairs are in this phase at any one time.

Catagen
Transition Phase
2–3 Weeks
Growth stops and the hair follicle begins to shrink and detach from the blood supply. The hair is no longer actively growing.

Telogen
Resting Phase
2-4 Months
The hair is fully formed but no longer growing. It remains in the follicle while a new hair begins to develop beneath it. Around 10–15% of hairs are in this phase.

Exogen
Growth Phase
A Few Weeks
The old hair is released and sheds, making way for a new hair to enter the anagen phase. Shedding 50–100 hairs per day is normal.
